Chapter 6: Weird Peelings

Avani's POV:

When I heard the water stop, I quickly busied myself with arranging the pillows on the bed, pretending to be composed by the time he emerged.

The bathroom door creaked open, and I glanced up—only to instantly regret it.

Akash Ji stepped out, a white towel hanging low on his waist, his broad chest glistening with droplets of water. His damp hair clung to his forehead, making him look effortlessly handsome, almost sinful.

I froze.

My breath hitched, and my heart pounded wildly, as if rebelling against me. My eyes—traitorous and disobedient—drifted over his toned chest, lingering on the way the morning light highlighted every defined muscle. A single droplet trickled down from his collarbone, tracing a slow, tempting path down his chest before disappearing beneath the towel.

Heat rushed to my cheeks. I quickly averted my gaze—but it was too late.

He had noticed. Of course, he had noticed.

"Enjoying the view?" His voice was low, teasing, laced with unmistakable mischief.

I gasped, my eyes snapping back to his, my face burning as red as my saree. "W-what? No! I wasn't—"

Before I could finish, he took a step closer. My breath stuttered.

Then, without warning, he shook his head, sending cool droplets flying onto me. The sudden chill made me shiver, and I jumped slightly, clutching my saree at my sides.

He smirked, eyes darkening with amusement as he lifted a finger to my cheek, tracing the path of a stray water droplet. His touch was slow, deliberate—almost torturous. The drop slid from my cheek to my lips, and he followed it down, trailing along my jaw, down my neck... lower...

Just as his fingers reached the valley of my cleavage, I grabbed his wrist, my wide eyes pleading with him to stop.

He smirked again, a devilish glint in his gaze. Instead of pulling away, he took my trembling hand—the very one that had stopped him—and brought it to his lips. One by one, he kissed each finger, his lips soft yet searing, his eyes locked onto mine the entire time.

A strange, unfamiliar sensation coiled low in my stomach, making my knees weak. I fought to stand my ground, to resist the way my body reacted to him.

Seeing my flustered state, he let out a knowing chuckle before finally stepping away, turning towards the wardrobe as if nothing had happened.

I exhaled sharply, pressing a hand to my chest, my entire body still tingling.

I clenched my thighs together, mortified at the wetness between them.

Oh God.

By the time Akash Ji stepped out of the room, now fully dressed in a crisp white kurta, I had somewhat managed to compose myself. Or so I thought.

"Ready?" he asked, his tone casual, but the small smirk playing on his lips reminded me all too well of the incident that had left me flustered moments ago.

I swallowed hard, nodding quickly while avoiding his gaze, and walked toward the door.

Downstairs, Ma greeted me with a warm smile. I returned it politely, but my nerves were already on edge.

The rest of the family, however, had a different expression altogether. Their eyes bore into me, some filled with disapproval, others outright hostility. It was clear—they weren't pleased with my presence.

Still, I held my ground, offering a respectful Namaste, and then moved to stand beside Ma

As per tradition, the daughter-in-law must eat only after serving everyone. Ma and I began serving, and while my hands worked, my senses remained aware of a particular burning gaze—his.

Akash Ji's eyes never left me, the smirk on his face refusing to fade.

Another set of eyes, however, held nothing but contempt—Priya. She glared at me, her expression twisted in disgust. I ignored her, lowering my gaze as I took my place beside Akash Ji.

After a few moments of tense silence, Dadi Maa finally spoke.

"Jo hona tha, woh ho gaya. Ab iska pehli rasoi karwawo, bahu." (What's done is done. Now let her prepare her first meal.)

She looked at Ma first, then at Akash Ji.

"Jee," Ma replied, nodding in acceptance.

Akash Ji gave her a slight nod in return, a silent gesture of gratitude.

No one said another word. One by one, everyone finished their meal and dispersed, leaving me standing there, still trying to process everything.

Back in our room, the air felt different—charged with something unspoken.

Before I could think, he was on me again.

His lips moved across my skin—feather-light kisses that left a trail of heat in their wake. He explored my neck, my collarbone, my shoulders... everywhere except my lips.

His hands roamed, firm yet teasing, igniting something deep within me. My fingers clutched onto his kurta, holding on for support, my breath uneven as an unfamiliar mix of frustration and need built up inside me.

Why wasn't he kissing my lips?

"Kya?" he murmured, pulling back slightly to look at my face.

I met his gaze, my eyes silently pleading, my lips parting ever so slightly.

He chuckled.

Then—pinch.

I gasped as his fingers teasingly squeezed my nipple through the blouse, a sharp jolt of sensation shooting through me. A startled shriek escaped my lips as I jerked upright, pushing him away.

He only smirked, standing up effortlessly as I sat there, stunned.

"Main gaon ja raha hoon. Shaam tak laut aunga. Khayal rakhna." (I'm going to the village. I'll be back by evening. Take care.)

I gawked at him, still holding my chest where it tingled from his touch, my glare filled with disbelief.

His eyes flickered down to my hand clutching my blouse, then up to my lips. Slowly, he sucked in his lower lip, his gaze darkening for a fraction of a second before he leaned down.

A soft kiss landed on my forehead.

And just like that—he turned and walked away, leaving me breathless and aching for something I couldn't even put into words.
After some time me and maa are preparing lunch for everyone  and i prepared a kheer as ma told he likes it .

With Adhya and Priya off to college, the house felt quieter. Only Dadimaa, Bua Ji, Maa, Choti Maa, and I remained.

Choti Maa wasn't feeling well, so she had retired to her room to rest.

During lunch, everyone ate in silence. When we finished, Dadimaa blessed me and placed some money in my hands—a gesture of acceptance, perhaps.

"Sada suhagan raho, bahu," she murmured, her voice softer than I expected.

Maa smiled at me warmly. "Ja, beta. Ab araam kar le."

I nodded and walked back to my room, but rest was the last thing on my mind.

I turned on the bed, tossing and shifting, but sleep refused to come. My mind was restless—no, my body was restless.

Since morning, something had felt... off. A strange ache pulsed within me, an emptiness that only seemed to grow in his absence.

I wanted his touch.

A soft sigh escaped my lips as I removed my pallu, letting the cool air brush against my skin. Slowly, hesitantly, I trailed my fingers over my arms, my collarbone—mimicking the way he had touched me. A shiver ran down my spine, my breath hitching—

Suddenly, the door creaked open.

I shot up, alarmed. My heart pounded as I clutched my saree, eyes darting to the figure stepping inside.

It was him.

"Aap toh shaam ko aane wale the na?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

But he didn't answer.

His eyes, dark and unreadable, roamed over me. The way his gaze lingered made my stomach clench in anticipation. That's when I realized—

He had seen everything.

Before I could react, he was on me.

His hands planted firmly on either side of me as he hovered above, his body caging me in. His intoxicating scent, the heat radiating from him—it was overwhelming.

He looked into my eyes, his expression intense, possessive.

"I missed you," he murmured.

Something inside me melted, a warm tug pulling at my heart.

I nodded, unable to form words, unable to breathe properly with him so close.

His lips curved into the faintest smirk before he lowered himself—his head resting against my chest, his weight pressing onto my lower body.

A shaky breath escaped me. My fingers hesitated before instinctively threading into his hair, holding him close.
