Everyone was gathered in the hall, drinking chai and chatting among themselves.
He was outside, speaking with some people who had come to meet him in the garden.
But I... I was still fuming. He had left me on edge-I wasn't sure what it meant, but it felt incomplete. And I hated that feeling.
Maa nudged me. "Jaake chai de aa usse." "Go give him chai."
I nodded and picked up a cup. By the time I reached him, he was alone.
Good.
I placed the chai on the table without a word and turned to leave, but before I could take a step, his hand wrapped around my wrist, pulling me back.
A gasp escaped me as he spun me toward him, one hand gripping my shoulder, the other firm around my waist, holding me in place.
His breath fanned against my ear as he murmured, "Ab meri taraf dekhogi bhi nahi kya?" "So you won't even look at me now?"
My heart stuttered.
Thank god this was the back side of the haveli-no one could see us.
(Though, unbeknownst to us, someone was watching... burning with jealousy.)
"Nahi," I snapped, refusing to meet his gaze. Then, in a sudden act of defiance, I leaned in and bit his hand resting on my shoulder.
He hissed but didn't let me go.
His grip only tightened as he warned, "Itna gussa bhari padega, Avani. Soch lo." "This much anger will cost you, Avani. Think about it."
Oh god. The way he said my name-so slow, so deep, so... romantic. Haye, main toh gayi!
I swallowed hard, my cheeks heating up.
"Soch liya! Chhodiye mujhe!" "I've thought about it! Now let me go!"
And before he could react, I wrenched myself free and dashed inside, my face burning.
Later, Maa and I prepared dinner for everyone.
Adhya wouldn't stop blabbering about everything that had happened in college, but my mind was elsewhere. After serving dinner to everyone, Maa turned to me. "Ja, Akash ko kheer de aa."
"Go give Akash some kheer."
The moment he saw me approaching, his face lit up in anticipation.
But just before I reached him, I hesitated.
I was still mad. He hadn't given me what I wanted earlier, had left me hanging in frustration.
So I simply announced, "Kheer khatam ho gayi. Kal bana dungi." "The kheer is finished. I'll make it for you tomorrow."
His face fell instantly.
I bit back a smirk. If he won't give me what I want, I won't give him what he wants either.
After dinner everyon eretired to thier rooms but idint see him any where and just heated a glass of milk for him and took to our room and then i folded clothes and rememberd what happeed evening in priyas room
When I reached Priya, she looked up with that mocking smirk on her face, and the words that left her lips felt like they cut me to the core. "You're just Akash's whore," she said, her voice dripping with contempt. "He'll sleep with you, then leave you. He'll marry me."
My heart dropped into my stomach. I knew Priya. She wasn't a stranger to me. We went to the same college, and I had always seen her with Adhya. She was constantly talking about how she was going to marry Akash Ji. She flaunted it like she had some sort of claim on him. I had always wondered if there was truth to it, but hearing her say it aloud made everything feel so real.
Here's your scene with better flow, natural dialogue, and enhanced emotions while keeping the essence intact:
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard him enter the room and shut the door behind him.
Without a word, he turned and disappeared into the washroom. Moments later, he emerged, now changed, and lay down on the cot.
I frowned. What's wrong with him?
Shrugging off the thought, I turned off the main lights and slipped into bed beside him.
A few minutes passed. Ten, to be exact.
By now, he should have pulled me into his arms like always. But he didn't.
Confused, I turned toward him-only to find him staring at me. Intently.
A shiver ran down my spine. "Kya hua?" I whispered, unable to bear the weight of his gaze. "What happened?"
His voice was low, almost sulking. "Mere liye kheer kyu nahi rakha?" "Why didn't you save any kheer for me?"
Oh. So that's why he's upset.
I blinked, suddenly remembering what I had done.
"I forgot about you," I said, feigning innocence.
His eyes darkened as he let out a sharp breath. "Mujhe bhool gayi, haan?" "You forgot me, huh?"
His voice held a quiet sadness that made my heart clench.
"I'm that little to you?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Guilt flooded me as I turned toward him.
"You've been doing whatever you wanted since morning. So, I decided I'd do the same."
The sadness in his eyes vanished, replaced by something else entirely.
Excitement.
"Toh kheer mere liye hai?" he asked, his voice filled with childlike hope. "So, there is kheer for me?"
I sighed. "Haan," I whispered. "Yes."
A wide grin spread across his face.
"Jao, le aao." "Go bring it."
I raised a brow. "No. I won't."
His lips curved into a smirk before he pulled me closer, his voice turning soft. "Please... please, baby?"
My resolve crumbled. Ugh, this man.
I sighed dramatically. "Fine, I'll bring it."
He beamed as I got up and made my way to the kitchen, filling a bowl with kheer.
While returning, I heard a faint noise near Adhya's room.
I paused for a second.
Maybe she's studying-her exams are near.
Shrugging it off, I continued back to my room.
