I couldn't face him after last night. The moment I woke up, I slipped out of bed without waking him. It was quite a task—he's really heavy.
I need to eat more food. I was so weak in front of him.
Now, sitting in the kitchen, I sipped my tea with my maasaa, who looked at me in shock. She had expected me to be miserable after yesterday—after Vinay's complaint, after all their taunts.
But I reassured her with a big smile. "I'm not going anywhere."
Breakfast was almost ready, but he still hadn't come down.
I silently prayed, Please, God, let him come, eat, and leave before I have to go upstairs to call him down.
But my maasaa had other plans."Avani, go and call Akash," she ordered.
I sighed, my steps slow and hesitant as I climbed the stairs.
On my way up, I ran into Priya. She smirked at me, expecting me to cower like always.Instead, I smirked right back. Her face twisted in confusion, but she said nothing and went downstairs.
I am not tolerating her attitude anymore, I decided.
As I climbed further, I saw him coming down the stairs. There was a distance of four steps between us."Come for breakfast," I mumbled quickly, the words rushing out .
Then I turned to flee.
But he was faster.
In a flash, he grabbed my wrist, pulling me back, trapping me between him and the wall.I gasped, my breath catching.
I quickly shut my eyes, not daring to meet his gaze. His hand slipped around my waist, fingers pressing into my back, holding me in place.
His other hand came up, brushing my hair away from my face.
"Kaha chali gayi thi subah?" (Where did you go in the morning?) His voice was low, accusing.
I stayed silent."Maine kal raat kaha tha na?" (I told you last night, didn't I?) His lips hovered near my ear. "I need my morning dose... but you left without giving me my drink." authors voice - (you can think whatever u want..hehe).😁
I still didn't respond.
His fingers suddenly pinched my nipple through my clothes.I shrieked, my eyes flying open."Bolo," (Speak.) he demanded, his hand tracing slow circles over the fabric.
I gulped, shaking my head. His fingers moved lower, pinching my waist this time.
"Ahmm..." I bit my lip, a soft moan escaping.
"Chhodiye naa... k-koi dekh lega," (Leave me... s-someone will see us.) I stammered.
"Dekhne do..." (Let them see...) His voice was thick with possession. "Meri biwi, meri marzi."
(My wife, my choice.)
His arms tightened around me."Why did you leave me on the bed like that? I was so scared not seeing you beneath me."
My heart stilled."Mera din tumhari shakal dekhe bina shuru nahi hota." (My day cannot start without seeing your face.)I blushed at his second sentence but huffed at the first.
"You're so heavy," I mumbled.
"I know." He smirked.
Before I could say anything else, his lips brushed against my lips, lingering for a second too long.
His hand moved up, cupping my cheek, his thumb stroking my skin.
"Dobara meri baahon se is tarah mat nikalna." (Don't ever leave my arms like that again.) he whispered.
I met his gaze then, my heart pounding at the raw intensity in his eyes."Main bas chai banane gayi thi..." (I just went to make tea...) I whispered shyly. I lied.
He chuckled, leaning in closer. His breath fanned over my skin as he whispered, "Chai ruk sakti hai... par main nahi." (Tea can wait... but I can't.)His fingers tightened around my waist, pulling me flush against him.
"Tum meri asli subah ki lat ho." (You're my real morning addiction.)I swallowed hard, my heart hammering.
"Akash..." I started, but he cut me off, his lips brushing against mine, then trailing towards my neck."Agli baar," (Next time,) he murmured,
"mujhe uthana... nahi toh main ensure karunga ki tum bistar se hil bhi na sako." (Wake me up... or I'll make sure you don't leave the bed at all.)
We went downstairs together.
He sat to eat, but that grin on his face just wouldn't leave.
I can still feel him there—the way he used his tongue.
I didn't know I could sound like that. I didn't know many things.
The way he made me shout, I wonder if anyone heard.Adhya's room was near us. I looked at her.She gave me a teasing smile.
Oh God, no... no.I turned to leave, but he called, "Avani, pani doo." (Avani, give me water.)I stopped and went near to pour water in his glass.
Only for him to move his hand behind my ass and rub there. No one saw, thankfully.I stood there with an emotionless face, even though I was bursting inside, and continued to pour water, then left from his side.
He kept on calling me for useless reasons. Even though all this teasing was overwhelming,Bua and Dadi's faces were super angry, and Priya's face was so funny.
Dadi cleared her throat."Kya socha phir, ey ladki, kab jayegi?" (So, when do you plan to leave, girl?)"Kya matlab apka?" (What do you mean?) he said in a chilling voice.
Akash Ji's voice sent a ripple through the room, freezing everyone.
Sasur ji's face was red with anger, his hands clenched. He had been waiting for a response, but Akash had gone completely silent.
"Phir kya soch raha hai tu? Iss ladki ko bech do yahan se!" (Then what are you thinking? Send this girl off from here!) Sasur ji demanded, his voice venomous.
Akash Ji's eyes flickered, the heat in them unmistakable.
"Yeh meri patni hai. Yeh kahi nahi jayegi." (She is my wife. She's not going anywhere.)
The room went quiet. No one dared speak.
Sasur ji took a step forward, his face full of disbelief. "This girl has a history with another man, and you would like to keep her with you, huh?"
Akash Ji's jaw tightened, and his fists clenched.
He turned his full attention to his father, his voice cold but with an edge of finality."Aisa koi baat nahi hai. She does not love him. Her parents tried to force her onto him, and she was glad she didn't marry him," he said in a low voice.
"Aur tum uski baaton ko sach samajh kar maan rahe ho? Yeh ladki puri jhutti hai. Haveli dekh kar usne socha ki yeh yahan rukkar saara paisa apne mangetar ko de degi aur apne gareeb parivaar ke liye rakhegi." said dadi.
(And you're taking his words seriously? This girl is a complete liar. Seeing the mansion, she thought she would stay here, give all the money to her fiancé, and keep it for her poor family.)
"Chup ekdaam chup, maine bol diya na aisa kuch nahi. Mujhe Avani pe pura vishwas hai," he said, cutting through the tension, his voice like a blade.
(Shut up. I've said there's nothing like that. I trust Avani completely.)
"Aur yaad rakhna, yeh ab bhi iss ghar ki bahu hai. Toh behtar hoga ki koi bhi isse taane maarne ki galti na kare. Warna mujhse bura koi nahi hoga." (
And remember, she is still the daughter-in-law of this house. It's better if no one dares taunt her. Otherwise, no one will be worse than me.)
His voice was low, warning them that any further disrespect would have consequences.
Bua scoffed, her lips curling in disdain. "Tu apne biwi ko itna importance de raha hai? Samajh nahi aata?" (You're giving so much importance to your wife? It doesn't make sense?)
Akash's gaze shifted to her, the coldness in his eyes making her freeze. "Agar kisi ko samajh nahi aata, toh main samjha dunga."
(If someone doesn't understand, I'll make them understand.)Dadi let out a deep, exasperated sigh but didn't speak further.
There was a long silence, but I could feel the tension easing just a little.
Akash turned to me, his expression softening. He took my hand in his, as though silently reassuring me that everything would be alright, and took me to our room.
"You okay?" he asked, his voice low, concerned.
I nodded, my eyes meeting his. "I'm fine. Thank you," I whispered.
He smiled then, a real smile, one that was full of warmth and something else I couldn't name. "I'll always stand by you, Avani. No matter what." My heart fluttered, and for the first time, I believed him.
I nodded my head, feeling grateful.
"Sooo..." he said, and removed my pallu. I gasped.
